For those who need new books.

To help you chose the books for you,  I will tell you that I can stomach gore, do not like cursing, but can mucle it down a bit, HAVE read books intended for boys, and can read girly books, so I am NOT being biast on any of these.

Old language

The Lord of the Rings- J.R.R. Tolkien
This is amoungst my favorite books, and it is way up there. It is about a hobbit named Frodo Baggins, and he is given the task to cary the ring of doom and destroy it. I segest this book to those who like adventure, fiction, and understand the old language. There are also some romance and humor in it. A very pleasing book.

Upon a Midsummer Night's Dream- William Shakespear
This is an amazing story, and my class just got finished reading it. We read an easy versoin of the play, a hard version, and watched the movie. I do belive that there are book versions aswell, but if not, the play would do just fine. It is an EXTREAMLY funny story about these lovers, and I say that not in the way of just two love birds, but eight. It has some words in it, but it was used in the old way, such as donkey... It has feiry folk, kings and queens, runaway lovers, and terrible actors! This story will crack your sides with laughter!

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn- Mark Twain
I love this book. This story is about a young boy named Huckleberry Finn and a runaway slave man named Jim. This story took me longer to read then most books due to the many diffrent words and dialects, but I had a book with foot notes wich helped. Some parents or adults might frown upon this book due to it's countless times to use the N word. But so long as you get past all that, it is a classic and amazing book. It has "Kings" and "Dukes" and Swahilean people and rich people, rotten fruit, rivers, and, of course, Huck.

The Chronicals of Narnia- C.S. Lewis
This is an exceedingly easier book to read the any of those up top. These books are amazing and fun. It starts off with how the famous Narnia began. It the travles on to the time of the White Witch, through the time of the Tulmerains, through the sea, through the wicked underground queen, to, lastly, the last battle, all with a slightly different group of charecters. They go in order from;
The Magician's Nephue
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
Prince Caspian
the Voyage of the Dawn Treader
the Silver Chair
the Last Battle

Elementry aged

Emily's Runaway imagination- Beverly Cleary
I read this book when I was home schooled. It was one of the books I had to read in order to get a stuffed animal rat named Romeo. It is about a spunky girl and her wild Oregon adventures. She helps raise a library up, and much more. Ah, My book still has that wonderful-ly book-y smell, and not that of our house. I had fun reading it, and hope you do too.

Doctor Dolittle- Hugh Lofting
I have read this book a great deal of times, and just last year had my dad read a chapter a night to us. It is about a Doctor that loves his animals so, and he has a parrot to teach him Animal. he speeks to animals, and this helps them get better. This causes animals to flock to his house, frightening his patients away. His parrot tells him to become a vet, and he does, leaving him with little money, for anaimals cant pay, and come with high bills.

Junie B. Jones- Barbara Park
Ah, I remember the days of Junie B. Those long hours on the couch reading. It's about this little girl and her adventures in school. At times, they have words inapropriate for small children, in my veiw. words so "simple" as Stupid and dumb. Mom used to use sharpie and cross those words out, inserting better words.

 Middle Schoolers

Boarding School Mysteries- Kristi Holl
My Grandma wrote these books, and trust me when I say, they are WONDERFUL! They have mysteries, God, and yes, school. Here is her website. http://www.boardingschoolmysteries.com/
Fading Tracks
Jeri's roomate and her feild trip bus are missing.
Secrets for Sale
Someone is blackmailing Jeri (this one gave me the creeps)
Smoke Screen
Jeri's science lab catches on fire, seemingly causing a chain reaction to other fires in the school.
Pick your Poison
Jeri's friends get sick, all with the same thing!
These books are amazing! I say, dont read them at night, unless your an avid mystery reader! They gave me the willies! Great job, Nana!

Follow My Leader
This book is very touching. It is about a boy, Jimmy, who lost his sight, and his seeing eye dog, Leader. It is an older type of book, from the time of corded phones, but I loved it. There is scouts, Brail, firecrackers, and leader.

Fantasy

Sword Quest- Nancy Yi Fan
This book was amazing! It is a book of birds and swords. I had times thinking that she was christian or something, for I had that feeling throughout the book. There is a slave bird freeing himself and a bird prepared for dinner. They and another bird travel to protect the sacred sword, witch, in the wrong talons, would cause utter chaos!

The Door Within- Wayn Thopmas Batson
Most of you might recognize this name:) He is an amazing writer, and I loved his trilogy. Aiden Thopmas has, aginst his will, moved in with his handycaped grandfather, leaving his best friend behind. But Aiden never expected to encounter anouther world! Definately enterteined God and fantasy! Sword fighting, Dragons, cool high schoolers, and evil paragory knights!

Whoa!

Ok. So, I went to the beach a few weekends ago, and I was scouring the beach for things of intrest. I came apon a wired looking rock and desided to poke it. It moved! I observed it and put it in a jar of water and found out.... IT WAS A SEA SLUG!!!!!! We made a little castle and put water in the middle so he could roam. It didn't work, so we put him in our tennis ball case full of watter, and in a little bit, HE BEGAN TO SWIM! It looked like he was FLYING!!!!!! It was amazing! We named him Edger Allen Slow. And we are going to Italy in july, AND I might go to a vollyball camp in Germany! I hope to post pictures of them!
